I logged onto facebook this morning and shockingly saw many of my friends had their status changed to "rest in peace" etc. Unfortunately a CL friend just passed away in KL because of an accident. According to my friend, it was a hit and run case that happened after midnight and the saddest part is that, his body was only discovered in the morning! He could have been saved if the bastard is responsible. I am not that closed to him but still a sad news like this is depressing enough to have me pondering over how fragile and short our lives can be. Rest in peace, my friend.

As if a lost of friend is not bad enough for the day, Marvell announced 15% layoff of its global workforce, which is approximately 850 people. While I am glad that my group is relatively safe from retrenchment, my friend who works in Marvell Penang branch might not be lucky. Rumour has it that Penang center will be badly affected. Nevertheless, the layoff news, coupled with the better than expected earning release, boosted the stock to over $8. Silver lining in the cloud?

Life is unpredictable so good moment should be cherished. Just last week my friends, K & M, got married. Initially we were quite shocked by their hasty annoucement, wondering if "accident" had happened. The truth is, the groom's father just passed away and according to the chinese tradition, he can either get married in 3 months or he will have to wait for 3 years. I am happy for both of them and wishing them all the best.

They hold a small yet fun reception last saturday. I had my prime lens on my D80 and got some nice bokeh shot. In general outdoor pictures look great and but indoor picture are a little blurry. That's probably due to my inexperience of forgetting to increase the ISO. I was shooting with ISO 320 indoor. Or maybe I should get a VR lens Another problem i had with 50mm prime was to adjust the distance between me and the subjects "manually", thus missing out some big group photos. Friends gave me a weird look when I told them that there's no zoom on my big fat camera. Anyway, guess i will get to hone my skill more because I am attending another wedding in San Diego this coming May.

After the reception, bunch of us went to strip club in SF. Having been to strip club twice, to me it's just a waste of money. Unless you are getting a lap dance, which I think is kinda disgusting because she could have lap-danced a big fat ugly guy 5-10 minutes before you do (imagine the sweats etc), it's just dead boring to see bunch of nude blonde pole-dancing. Some of them are not even good looking with fake boobs. Oh well, it's a 15 dollar strip club. Watching porn together with friends might be more fun, don't you think so?

That was actually my 2nd visit to SF city in a week time. Last wednesday CY, now a singapore airlines stewardess stopped by SFO and we decided to meet up. We weren't that closed all these years but heck, 有朋自远方来, it was a fun night out. After dinner we went to twin peaks, golden gate bridge and coit tower. We took some touristy pictures but my lack of skill contributed to shaky pictures. Nonetheless i have this picture of my bubbly and cute friend in front of golden gate. Who said blurry picture can't be cool?
