Okie, the rumor is true. Marvell will no longer provide free food, which sucks for all the single-no-girlfriend-doesn't-know-how-to-cook engineers like me. Plus, there's no salary increase and I have yet received any stock option. Please tell me what's the reason we are having performance review? It really sucks because we don't feel appreciated for all the hardwork. All the extra hours spent during weekend or even christmas/new year period went down the drain. Morale among my colleauges are noticeably affected now. Man I don't know how do AMD engineers feel having their salary cut by 10%. Maybe I should stop bitching it:)
So much hope was put on Obama in saving the America. I understand that the current economy slump cannot be corrected overnight, but at least it shouldn't get worse more. But look at Dow Jones, it has been dropping non-stop since Obama inauguralation and now is hitting 6 years low at 7500. And you think the US will use all the money, if it has any left, to save its own economy. Wrong! Obama is sending additional 17000 combat troops to Afghanistan. Tiny bit of those money came from my tax! And didn't Obama promise troops retreat as one of his agenda? Are all politician liars? Back in home country, there's dirty politics going on in Perak (BN taking over Pakatan in barely 1 year because some stupid politicians cross-over/turn independent/give ways etc) too. How disappointing?
Unwind a bit after watching 2 great movies: Slumdog Millionaire and Ip Man.
Slumpdog is an British-made indian movie, and probably the first indian movie that i have ever finished watching. It's not bollywood style so I thought there won't be 100-indians-dancing-in-the-garden scene but i was so wrong. It did have 100 indians dancing at train station as its ending wtf. Very unique and interesting indeed.
Ip Man is a biography HK kungfu movie by Donnie Yen. It's pretty much like Jet Li's Fearless but i like this one better. Donnie Yen is getting better and better I guess. All his recent movie are really great, fast and furious. In my opinion, despite all the high-tech CG, Hollywood action movies still have a notch to catch up with HK real kungfu production.
