I used to be a F1 follower back in high school. Back then I knew nothing about cars but partly due to the heat of the newly-launched Sepang Circuit, I rarely missed the races live-telecasted on TV3. Of course I was never a hardcore enthusiast but I knew the teams well enough to discuss them. There were 2 teams, Ferrari and Mclaren Mercedes, which dominated the championship during that period. The most exciting part normally happened at the first corner, after the F1 cars accelerated from the starting grid, vying for leading position which sometimes resulted in messy crashes. It was thrilling to see the swift action of the pit-stop crews too. I bid goodbye to F1 races when I came to US. It's not a big thing in the US.
Anyhow car is something inherent in guys. My colleagues are car fanatic who talk about car all day long. Slightly influenced, I started to follow F1 again. Today news came out that the current F1 teams have some serious conflict with FIA over certain new regulations. Failing to compromise, 8 current teams namely Ferrari, McLaren, Renault, Toyota, BMW Sauber, Brawn GP, Red Bull Racing and Toro Rosso, had declined to enter F1 races in 2010. They will form another race on their own. Will this be the end of my once favorite motorsport? Sad Sad.
