Just got my immigration blood test result, everything is normal. Also got a tetanus jab. Total bill: $200 and it's not covered by insurance. I mean wth. It's just a simple blood draw and a vaccine injection, and everything was done in less than 10 minutes. Money-sucker. Now I kinda regret not studying medicine:)

Stock market has been doing good lately. Stocks are easily double-triple the price of that in Feb/March. Only if i knew that back then and loaded up more, oh well. The fall of GM didn't jitter the index at all, in fact it's well-received by investors. Following bankruptcy filling, GM has been delisted from NYSE with government took over the majority of its operation. Notably Hummer line goes to some china automobile manufacturer. Isn't hummer brandname somewhat military-vehicle related? I am quite surprised that the US actually let the chinese to keep it.

Indeed the chinese presence is getting more and more significant, even in the hollywood movie. I just finished watching Terminator Salvation. There's a scene where the skynet was transporting human prisoners in an aircraft. Among them there's a Kelefei Chinese lady talking in mandarin "我们是不会死的“. Another depressed white guy prisoner shouted back "hey speak in english". So random yet so funny. In movie "the day the earth stood still", there is an alien in human form of an old chinese dude and all of the sudden keanu reeves started speaking mandarin with him.

Maybe in the future if China were to surpass the US as the world powerhouse, they can make a chinese version of terminator. The scene will have a caucasian kelefei talking in english "we will not die" and the chinese lady can shout back "喂！ 讲中文！" Lol.
