Last Saturday I went to UC Berkeley to meet up some friends. School had started so there were students everywhere on the street, which gave it the college town feel. I like it a lot as it made you feel young and totally reminded me of CMU in Pittsburgh. Comparing to Stanford, the UCB environment is less "snobbish". Part of the reason could be its location being near to Oakland, an area generally deemed ghetto/lower class. There are homeless people hanging on the streets, yet you see so many energetic young students walking around. The atmosphere is somewhat more relaxing.

A while back I had a chance to visit Israel but it didn't work out in the end. This time around I will be visiting UK on business trip for a week! Next weekend I will be heading to ARM in Blackburn via Manchester airport. It would be nicer if it takes place in London though. Anyway, I don't foresee that much free time to go around but hopefully I can stop by Manchester and Liverpool. It will be more exciting for a soccer fan but too bad I am not. Come to think of it, I have only been to a handful countries: Singapore, Thailand (if border counts), bahamas and the US. Isn't it sad? I would love to travel outside the US more, but the thought of money and the time-off I have kill everything. Another friend of mine asked if I am interested to visit Vancouver this coming october. I really want to, but I am still debating whether I should I go back Malaysia next CNY. Argh... please give me more money, more holiday!
