After 2 and a half months of work on system L2, we delivered the so-called RTL 1.0 to chandler team. It's by no means a complete, bug-free design but more work/fix has to be done. Overall the project gives me a clearer picture on AXI bus protocol and handshaking valid/ready protocol between different modules. My next assignment might be firmware template design for ARM debugger which is more software oriented. Hopefully it will be a fun one.

I went to texas and florida for 5 days to meet my mum and sister. It's a good, relaxing break. This is my 2nd time visiting Florida (Orlando) so nothing exciting to me. The first day in Orlando, my sister insisted going to Disneyland, to which I strongly objected but to no avail and hence my 3rd visit to Disneyland. It's DEAD boring! My sister finally agreed that Disneyland sucks after the visit, but she argued a trip to Florida is imcomplete without Disneyland. I know many people think that way, but seriously unless you are a kid under 12, Disneyland is definitely overrated.

So happened that Tropical Storm Fay was hitting florida the following days. People were taking this storm seriously. TV news had 24 hours live weather updates. Schools and a local airport were closed. Anyway, Orlando was not badly hit, just intermittent rains and strong winds. And so my mum thought Tropical Storm in the US is merely big pouring rain we experience everyday in Malaysia:) Since outdoor was no-no, I brought them to watch Batman the Dark Knight in an IMAX theather. It's my first IMAX experience, the screen is 6-story high, and the movie is great! Not sure if my mum understood the movie but she said this is the only screen she can watch without glasses:) Apart from that we couldn't do much but stay in hotel watching weather news and olympics. I remember the last time I visited Orlando, I was watching news reporting tsunami hitting Asia in hotel too.

Olympic ended. Malaysia again missed the gold medal. I watched the replay match between Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei. It's a real disappointment. We all thought Lee can do better than that. Malaysia is betting on badminton medals in every Olympic, yet we failed to grab a gold so far. Shouldn't we start thinking of getting serious in other sports? Does that mean badminton the only talent we have? Looking at the medal standing, thailand had gotten their golds so why can't we do it?

A step closer to my dream, I bought a full-faced helmet and riding jacket. What's left now: a written test and a ninja 650R.
