Another mess-up. People are bashing Terengganu government because they are spending RM3+ million to buy 14 Mercedes to replace its Proton Perdana fleet. The reason being the maintenence fees for those Protons are astronomical. The report cites that a whopping RM235,000 was incurred to maintain a Proton Perdana from 2004 to year. Are you joking? That's hell lot of money. Don't tell me you don't smell something fishy going on between the car service provider and the government! Following Terengganu government's smart move, the Selangor Government is hinting that they might be getting Toyota Camry as thier official car, because it's much cheaper than Mercedes. Don't blame us grass-root citizen for not supporting the government. Reading about all these dumb-ass drama, one can't help but think that the government is messing up people's money.
So even the government is abandoning our national car now. How do you expect the people be proud of Proton then? It's really pathetic as Proton has been making cars for more than 20 yrs. How long more does it need to catch up foreign car maker? We all know that Proton car is, to put it bluntly, a piece of junk, but we still buy it because we don't have a choice. I was telling my friends that 40K usd only gets me a honda civic in malaysia. Mind you, my friend is driving a brand new Mitsubishi Evolution X and that costs him 40K only.
I was reading Namewee's blog. He is the one created negarakuku, caused a big hoo-hah and now he is planning to go back Malaysia for good. Many readers asked him why he wants to go back Malaysia, why not just stays in taiwan etc, citing that Malaysian Government sucks and there's no future back home. There other day I had a similar conversation with a malaysian here. I told her that my plan will be to go back home within the next 2-3 years and she started telling me all the cons of going back. To be frank, if not for family, the grass is really greener here. I can see now there are many Malaysians, mainly the young Chinese, if given a chance would flee the country without looking back. Pretty bad huh?
On another note, I ran 3 miles last friday, 4 miles on tuesday and 6 miles yesterday. Depending on my capability and training, i hope to join a half-marathon in October. Running alone can be boring but it is fun if done in a group. I always thought girls can't really run but a female colleague of mine can run better than I do. Oops... lost credit!
