Went to bestbuy on thanksgiving black friday and tried to use my 100 dollar gift card. Half-way through the transaction, the machine hung up. After the cashier rebooted the register my 100 dollar balance was gone. She asked me to call customer service to get my card refunded. I called, then got put on hold, and then transferred to different department etc, and in the end i don't get anything. Furious, i went back to the store and talked to the customer service face to face. The customer service line was super long that day. So many disgruntled customers complained this and that. A lot of them were trying to get price-matching. Price matching on blackfriday, that's crazy! I finally got the issue settled after 1 hour. Everyone is nice and pleasant when you make a purchase but when it comes to refunding, attitude and everything just change instantly.

Catched a NBA game between Houston Rockets and Oakland Warriors last thursday. I am not a huge fans of basketball, just went there for yao ming. The overall experience was so-so, probably doesn't worth my 50 bucks. But I would really want to watch a live badminton or squash game.

Also got my ticket to go back home on 1st of feb for Chinese New Year. 990 round trip on cathay pacific, probably the cheapest i have seen. I am so looking forward to that. This time i can only be back for about 2 weeks since that's how much paid vacation i have left. Yeah working life sucks coz holiday is limited. 2 weeks back home is already damn short and I still need to spend at least 2 days in KL for US embassy. Why can't they just open another one in penang? Anyway, initially i was thinking about stopping at Japan en route back. The cost is a bit too high for 1 or 2 day stop so it doesn't work out. I am seriously thinking about getting a week off sometime next year and maybe travel to europe with a high school fren.
