Today my colleague brought his 2 months old German shepherd in his SUV to work because no one is taking care of her at home. I went to car park and spent 20 minutes playing with this little female puppy. Never did i think of that's a sign of a good dog reborn. It's a sad day.
Called home and my mum said the vet gonna put "ah girl" to sleep. Tears came down. I know this day is coming sooner or later. When I left for the State 5 years ago, i thought i wouldn't be able to see her anymore. Back then she was maybe like 8 years old and I thought that's pretty old for a dog. Then every year when i went back she is there wagging happily, but i guess not the coming year.
It was way back in Form 1 or so, this little bitch came by herself to our house. For some reason, my dad and mum were not against letting her in our house, which is weird considering that my "normal" dad would just think that she is dirty and chase her away. She must have some kind of bonding with human that makes her so welcomed by the neighborhood. Must be her eyes that look like that pussy cat in Shrek, closed enough:) She surely knows taking advantage of our friendliness, wandering around the neighborhood and people just let her in and give her food. The norm is she came in our house during the day and went to another house at night. I am guessing she walks in and out freely from at least 5 houses around my place. So technically she isn't my dog, more like a communal pet and truely lives up to the name of "man's best friend". We call her "ah girl", a very common name for female dog. But my neighbors called her "Rocky". They said this is her original name but i think that sounds way too manly.
Along with her came another white dog. A stray male dog. We just keep feeding both of them ever since. They were definitely good friends. But the white dog was afraid of her in a way, like he will never fight with her for food or whenever she barks the white will just back off. Or maybe they are couple, in that case ah girl must make a fussy girlfriend. The white dog was long gone like 8 years ago. He died underneath my dad old Datsun 180k cp4807. My dad was definitely not happy about that because he had to dispose its body at some chinese cemetery. I don't know how he did that though. But i guess everyone was sad about white dog leaving us.
And today the dog that I fondly call "ah girl" is leaving too. 12 years. Lots of lots of memory to be cherished. I always try my best to keep my leftover KFC for her. But I don't remember she did anything good for me, bitch. Just like a friend, a really good friend, she has a place in my heart. Pretty sure i gonna get another dog in the future, it has to be a She so that I can call her "ah girl". Okie la, if it's a male I will call it "rocky". Fair enough? RIP and happy reunion with white dog.
