I mean we always hear ppl say they want to volunteer for the needy but most of the time it's just empty talk. For that reason i absolutely respect this fella who is willing to take an extra step to go all the way to Darfur, Sudan. It requires much courage and enthusiasm to perform this noble act. Mind you, the place is in riot and illness inflicted. Browsing through the website i actually felt much grateful for what i have. It's a nature for us to complain about life, like not enough money etc, but comparing to these refugee of Darfur (or many other third world country ppl), we should definitely think twice before whinning nonstop.

I spread the word to my HK roommate about this Darfur crisis, and he shrugged his shoulder. So i tried talking him into donating small amount but he doesn't seem to be interested. Then the next day, he bought himself a 600 dollar iphone. I am not saying anything bad about him. But I do feel that in general, HongKong ppl seems to be more self-centered and indifference to, says welfare or money donation. I guess it has to do with the HK society and the way they were brought up. Then I messaged another malaysian friend on my msn. Without persuading, he donated money and helped spreading the word. Wow! I am a proud of malaysian.
