A new berkeley fresh graduate came on board. He came to US about 6 yrs ago with immigrant status and just got his citizenship recently. To avoid taiwan mandatory 2-year military service, he changed his name, switching from a chinese first name to "david". I have heard of some taiwanese friends trying to avoid the service but changing name for that sake appears extreme to me. Really glad Malaysia doesn't have this thing.

so much hype about transformers movie. It will be out on July 4th. Heard some good reviews about it and really feel like watching it. I remembered there is another mega-robot cartoon named voltron back in the days. Wiki it and found out they might be Voltron movie in 2008... cool! Another favorite is ThunderCats. I still remember theme song of it... oh memories.

voltron is so cool, much better than "go go power rangers"
