And so I have been with Lintramax for a year now. It was a fruitful year as I learnt a lot more than just engineering. Do I miss the hardware world? Oh yes, I am still reading news on the latest ARM processor but as time goes by, I can no longer tell the difference between 4-way set associative cache vs fully associative cache. Nonetheless in Lintramax, I picked up software skills in VB, SQL, web programming, android etc so that will compensate for the lost of touch in hardware. Did I mention that I am pretty good in accounting nowadays too?:)
KL who has been working together with me since we started Penang office, decided to further his studies. He is resigning. He told me that eventually he will want to be in the US or Canada. Sigh, another brain-drain in the making:( I can definitely vouch for the american dream thingy, which has been the attraction for all the bright minds. Given our current cultural/political/economic scene, will Malaysia ever have such appeal?
Over the weekend I watched "American Dreams in China". It's a great movie and got me to think about our people and my country. Is it naive for me to think that Malaysia will be somewhere up there, competing with the first-world country? Or some day somehow many of the smart Malaysians come back and build a better future in Malaysia?
