Was reading an article in Time magazine - a husband depicting his wife eating her placenta. It reminds me of the HK horror movie 三更 in which Miriam Yeung eats placenta dumplings to sustain her beauty. A quick google on the benefit of eating placenta, is not so much for beauty care but mainly to deter the onset of postpartum depression because of its inherent vitamins. Apparently placentophagia, the practice of consuming placenta, has gained popularity in recent years especially in western world. But the point is that, because of the stupid hk movie all these while I had this very unpleasant impression about placenta eating. Movies that distort facts do mislead viewers. Now I know the reason it is not that disgusting anymore. That being said, I still hope this practice doesn't get too popular.
