Ever since the acquisition of Intel Xscale few years ago, Marvell has been managing 2 CPU core teams, namely our santa clara team and chandler team. Although technically 2 groups can be viewed as one single CPU design team, we all know that internally we are somewhat separated, or shall i say competing groups? It's typical post-acquisition scenario i guess.

The Chandler guys are mainly the xscale people, and undoubtedly they are more experience and technically stronger (considering the experience they carried from developing Xscale all those years). In fact they are the the ones who define our next generation CPU architecture, and lead us Santa Clara team through the implementation of MP system. Frankly speaking, they can do everything from front-end to back-end, even without our help. I am not saying that we are not good, the reality is they are better. The upper management is not blind and clearly aware of the situation. Therefore there will be a reorganization announced tomorrow! So will I get laid off this time around? :)
